Arada kalanlar sıkışmıştı vicdanları ve akılları arasında. İşte bu dediğimiz her şey anlamını yitiriyordu kısa bir süre sonra. Sonbaharda dökülen yaprakların sarılığında arıyorduk dinginliği, huzuru, bulamasak da. Kış bir başka olurdu bu şehirde, hemde bambaşka. Soğuğundan ziyade, örtülere bürünürdü toprak,ağaçlar,kaldırımlar ve çatılar…

Gidelim ama nereye gidelim, konuşalım ama kime söyleyelim cümlelerimizi, sürelim ama hangi menzile sürelim atlarımızı, yorulunca tık nefes hangi handa duralım gece boyu. Yol boyu su giderdi eskiden buralardan, bahçeler,sebzeler, tarlalar, ağaçlar ve hayvanlar içerdi kana kana,doya doya. Kıraç derlerdi susuz kalmaktan her yeri çatlamış toprakların adına. Taşıma suyla giderirlerdi onların ihtiyaçlarını, taşıma suyla çıkardı mahsüller…

Yeni dünya herşeyi ayaklarımızın altına serdikçe uzaklaşıyoruz kanaatten,uzaklaşıyoruz elimizdekiyle yetinmekten. Artan isteklerimiz, çizgiyi her an yükselttiğimiz standartlarımız el sallıyor bir hızlı trenin arka vagonundan. Ne kadar hızlı olursanız olun yetişemezsiniz bana diyerek. Gerçeği bildiğimiz halde yarı yolda yorulacağımızı bildiğimiz halde, bir kısrağın çatlaması misali durmuyoruz, istesekte duramıyoruz artık…

Sessiz limanların kıyısında bir balıkçı teknesiydik dünyaya geldiğimizde bugün ise okyanuslara açılmak isteyen bir Yük gemisi. Yükümüz ağır gelse de, omuzlarımız kaldırmakta zorlansa da bırakmıyoruz yere sırtımızdakileri, ya da bırakmak istemiyoruz…
